The Agriculture and Food Processing Committee of the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) plays a pivotal role in addressing the diverse needs of the agriculture sector. Originally established as the Agribusiness Committee, it has been restructured to include a broader mandate. The committee focuses on critical areas such as Food Security, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Pisciculture, Floriculture, Food Processing, Rural Development, and Agricultural Finance. Its mission is to unite stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, from grassroots farmers to corporate entities, ensuring sustainable growth and development.

Over the next two years, the committee will:

  • Identify Core Challenges – Understand and address the concerns of agribusinesses and grassroots farmers.
  • Policy Advocacy – Develop research-backed recommendations to influence government policies and foster global competitiveness in agriculture and food processing.
  • Promote Integration – Plan initiatives to link front-end retail chains with back-end production for seamless operations.
  • Encourage PPP Models – Drive Public-Private Partnerships to boost productivity and profitability, particularly for small and marginal farmers.
  • Represent Industry Needs – Prepare and present solutions based on industry input to address key concerns.
