The KAEC Fisheries Policy 2025 is a visionary initiative designed to transform the state’s fisheries sector by ensuring food security, improving livelihoods for fishers, and generating sustainable employment through the promotion of modern aquaculture practices and effective fisheries management.

Vision for 2035

KAEC as a Global Leader in Sustainable Fisheries

By 2035, envisions establishing the state as a global leader in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, with the following key objectives:

  • Becoming a Leader in Fish Production: Positioning KAEC as a top producer of freshwater and marine fish, significantly contributing to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Blue Economy.
  • Expanding Freshwater Aquaculture: Developing 15,000 hectares of tank and pond areas across 30 districts, adopting modern, science-driven aquaculture practices.
  • Boosting Fish Seed and Feed Production: Setting up 20 advanced hatcheries with a combined annual capacity of 30 crore fish seed, and establishing feed mills to produce 30,000 tonnes of high-quality fish feed per year.
  • Generating Employment Opportunities: Creating 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, empowering fishers, entrepreneurs, and rural communities across the state.
  • Fostering Sustainable Coastal Aquaculture: Introducing targeted incentives and programs to enhance the production of shrimp, fish, and other marine species, ensuring ecological and economic sustainability.
